Our
History
Blue's ArtHouse Graphics & Web Design began way back in
1997 when Blue Tapp built a web site for her parent's business
on her personal Compaq computer
in her spare time. Back then, she was working for Citicorp
designing Access Database applications. By the time the Citicorp
project was completed, Blue had several web site clients, enough
to quit her day job and pursue web site development full time.
Since then, Blue's ArtHouse has grown into its own office building
in St. Louis, Missouri with a network of computers and addition
of employees. Blue's ArtHouse has now designed web sites and
created logos for businesses all over the world and has established
itself as a web site and internet authority for North County
St. Louis, Missouri businesses in particular. By the way, that
very first web site, for Alpha
Robe Sales, has also become quite successful, changing Blue's
parents' business from a local mom and pop store to an international
dealer for choir apparel and judicial gowns.
More
About Blue Tapp
Blue went to college for ten years and has an A.A. in Fine Arts,
B.A. in English and an M.A. in English Literature. She uses
her English and Art education constantly in her graphic designs,
web site copyediting and marketing for Blue's ArtHouse. Blue
was one of those geeky straight A students alright but strangely
enough, never took a single computer class during her college
days. All of her computer expertise is self learned. She got
her first computer in the mid 1980's and immediately fell in
love with it. She had already been creating logos and tee shirt
designs for local businesses and churches and soon began using
her new computer skills to create computer graphics with CorelDraw
(back then it was version 2.0!).
Today,
Blue does often take computer courses online to keep up with
swiftly advancing technology, but most of her time is spent
marketing the business and designing graphics and web sites.
She is also very involved in the St. Louis North County business
community and is an active member of the Florissant Valley
Chamber of Commerce, North County Incorporated, the
North County Chamber of Commerce, the Ferguson Station
Business Association, Florissant Rotary Club and
Florissant Valley Jaycees. Blue was chosen as the Business
Person of the Year in 2003 by the North County Chamber of
Commerce. She is very proud to announce the launching of our
new Budget
Web Site Program that will make Blue's ArtHouse
high quality web sites and excellent customer service affordable
for almost everyone!
